The 2019-2020 season (our 38th) Starts!- Past Season Next Season




Due to Covid 19 the postponed concert from last March, the Aeolus Quartet, and the current 2020-2021 season, is on hold for the time being because of the WV Governor's Executive Order of allowing only 25 people to gather at an event, even if it's outdoors. Therefore, the FCMS is unable to schedule any of its concerts at this time.

However, all season tickets from last season and those purchased for this season will be honored for all 5 concerts, once in-person concerts are again permissible.

All subscribers and supporters of the FCMS will be notified by mail when re-scheduled concerts will be taking place in 2021. Anyone who has not subscribed for this season will have an opportunity to do so once concerts resume.

Individual tickets are available for all of our concerts but our subscription rate provides great savings as well as helping to assure the ongoing financial stability of our society. All FCMS concerts are held at St. Peter the Fisherman Church, Jackson Street in downtown Fairmont, WV at 3:00 PM on Sundays.
St. Peter may be entered with low physical effort through the side entrance and an elevator has been installed next to the Jackson Street entrance.

Tickets are available at the door. St. Peters is a large church with beautiful acoustics and stain glass windows. We'll see you there.

First: John Bullard and Friends


Our new season opens with a truly unique experience. John Bullard and Friends features classical banjoist John Bullard appearing with violin, cello and piano in a program guaranteed to delight anyone who once considered the banjo only a simple folk instrument.
John performs the music of Handel, Alessandro Marcello, Schuman and Telemann as well as original compositions and newly commissioned works, playing several banjos including his cello banjo. This is a program not to be missed.

Second: Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh

The Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh is a quintet consisting of some of the fine young wind players in the Pittsburgh area. Dedicated to wind chamber music performance, composition, and promotion, the Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh was founded in September 2003. They are particularly dedicated to performing, featuring, and commissioning works by American composers as well as the standard repertoire for this well loved ensemble.

Third: Telos Trio


We welcome the Telos Trio from Rochester New York to our series. The flute, clarinet and piano trio has performed from New York State to San Diego, CA where they performed at the 2016 National Flute Association Convention and as guest artists at the Chautauqua Institution. The musicians of the Telos Trio all teach at the Hochstein School in Rochester, NY.

Fourth: Aeolus Quartet


For the first time in many years we welcome a string quartet to our series. The Aeolus Quartet originally served as Graduate Resident String Quartet at the Juilliard School. Their recent season included residencies at Lehigh University, the Chamber Music Series of Detroit, and the Lincoln Center Atrium Series. The Baltimore Sun said " . . . they combined smoothly meshed technique with a sense of spontaneity and discovery " . We are pleased to welcome them to our series.

Fairmont Chamber Music Society, Inc. is recognized as a publicly supported organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. As such, donors who contribute to the Foundation may deduct their contributions as provided in Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers or gifts to the FCMS Inc. or for its use are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of sections 2055, 2106 and 2522 of the Code. In "English", this means that a donor may contribute to the FCMS, Inc. and take a tax deduction for that donation on their Federal Income Tax return.
